GPS/Tracking Officer - Addis Ababa

Job Summary
The GPS/Tracking Officer is responsible for monitoring and managing the company’s vehicle tracking systems to ensure real-time visibility, safety, efficiency, and compliance of fleet operations. The role involves tracking vehicle movements, identifying route deviations and unauthorized stops, monitoring driver behavior, and providing timely reports to the transport and management teams.
Key Responsibilities

• Monitor company vehicles through GPS and fleet-tracking systems in real time.
• Track vehicle locations, routes, speeds, stops, and estimated arrival times.
• Identify and report unauthorized trips, route deviations, excessive idling, speeding, and unusual vehicle activity.
• Maintain accurate daily records of vehicle movements and tracking activities.
• Coordinate with drivers and dispatch teams regarding vehicle locations and delivery progress.
• Escalate vehicle breakdowns, accidents, security incidents, or suspicious movements promptly.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly GPS and fleet performance reports.
• Monitor driver compliance with approved routes, schedules, and company transport policies.
• Support the Fleet Manager in improving vehicle utilization and reducing fuel and operational costs.
• Ensure GPS tracking devices are functioning properly and coordinate with service providers when technical issues arise.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of fleet-tracking information.
• Assist in investigating vehicle-related incidents using GPS data and historical trip records.
• Work closely with the Dispatch, Operations, Security, and Customer Service teams to improve shipment visibility.
• Perform other fleet monitoring duties as assigned by management.
