Monitoring and Evaluation Officer - Addis Ababa

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and community-focused Community Development Manager to lead the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of community development programs. The successful candidate will work closely with communities, government agencies, development partners, NGOs, and other stakeholders to deliver sustainable initiatives that improve livelihoods, strengthen community resilience, and promote inclusive development.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community development strategies, programs, and action plans.
• Lead community needs assessments, stakeholder mapping, and participatory planning processes.
• Design and manage projects addressing livelihoods, education, health, economic empowerment, environment, and social development.
• Build strong and sustainable relationships with community leaders, local organizations, government agencies, and development partners.
• Facilitate community participation and ensure that programs are inclusive, participatory, and locally owned.
• Coordinate implementation of community-based projects and monitor progress against agreed objectives and targets.
• Develop project budgets, work plans, implementation schedules, and performance indicators.
• Monitor program outcomes, impact, risks, and resource utilization.
• Prepare high-quality technical, narrative, and donor reports.
• Identify funding opportunities and contribute to proposal and concept note development.
• Support capacity building of community groups, local institutions, and implementing partners.
• Promote gender equality, social inclusion, youth participation, and community empowerment.
• Identify challenges affecting program implementation and develop appropriate solutions.
• Document lessons learned, success stories, best practices, and community impact.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and relevant government regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise community development and project teams.
