Job summary
Conduct inspections of food establishments, schools, healthcare facilities, markets, and public areas to ensure compliance with sanitation and health regulations. Monitor environmental health conditions, including waste management, water quality, sewage systems, and vector control programs.
Investigate public health complaints related to sanitation, hygiene, pollution, or disease outbreaks. Enforce health and sanitation laws, regulations, and standards.
Provide health education and awareness programs to communities and organizations. Prepare inspection reports, notices, and recommendations for corrective actions.
Collaborate with government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations on public health initiatives. Monitor and support disease prevention and infection control measures.
Collect and analyze environmental health data for reporting and planning purposes. Respond to public health emergencies and participate in outbreak investigations when required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Environmental Health, Public Health, Sanitary Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Professional certification or registration as required by local regulations.
Knowledge of public health laws, sanitation standards, and environmental health principles.
Strong inspection, reporting, and communication skills.
Ability to use data collection and reporting tools.
Experience in environmental health inspection or public health work is often preferred
