Job Purpose

We are seeking an accurate, analytical, and reliable Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, maintain general ledger integrity, coordinate tax filings, manage cost accounting for production, and prepare monthly financial reports in compliance with statutory standards and corporate financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Ledger Management: Oversee full-cycle general ledger accounting, perform month-end financial closures, and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow schedules.

• Costing & Inventory Accounting: Track product costing, direct materials, labor overheads, and inventory valuations across manufacturing and sales operations.

• Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings: Prepare and ensure timely declaration of all monthly and annual taxes (VAT, TOT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, Income Tax) with Ethiopian revenue authorities.

• Receivables, Payables & Treasury: Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding collections, verify supplier payables, and manage daily cash flow reconciliations.

• Internal Controls & Audit Readiness: Maintain accurate financial documentation, enforce internal financial controls, and lead audit preparations for external and statutory auditors.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA student/passer or equivalent) are an advantage.

• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, group company, or commercial business environment.

• Competencies: Proficiency in Peachtree/Sage/ERP software and advanced Microsoft Excel; strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and IFRS/GAAP standards; high attention to detail.
