What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Task Breakdown: 

• Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and repair of metal structures, equipment parts, frames, brackets, and other components.
• Interpret fabrication drawings, measurements, welding symbols, and job instructions.
• Select suitable welding processes, electrodes, filler materials, and equipment settings.
• Prepare, align, weld, and finish metal components according to required specifications.
• Inspect completed welds and correct defects to meet required workmanship standards.
• Carry out repair and fabrication work on construction equipment and workshop components as assigned.
• Maintain welding machines, cables, tools, and accessories in good working condition.
• Follow hot-work permit procedures, fire prevention measures, and gas-cylinder handling requirements.
• Keep the work area clean and report unsafe conditions or material shortages.

Experience:

Years of Experience:  4–8 years of relevant practical experience.

Relevant Experience: Experience in construction equipment repair, structural fabrication, and workshop maintenance is an advantage.

Skills:

Technical Skills:

• Arc welding and other relevant welding techniques.
• Metal cutting, grinding, and fabrication.
• Interpretation of technical drawings and measurements.
• Welding preparation, finishing, and inspection.
• Equipment handling and basic maintenance.

Soft Skills:

• Attention to detail and practical problem-solving.
• Fire prevention and occupational safety.

Education & Certifications

Educational Requirements: TVET Level III/IV or equivalent vocational qualification in Welding and Metal Fabrication.
