Truck Route Supervisor

The Truck Route Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily fleet routing, dispatch management, driver coordination, and delivery scheduling. This role ensures safe, cost-effective, while optimizing fuel consumption, maintaining driver safety compliance, and monitoring real-time vehicle tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Route Planning & Optimization: Design, review, and adjust daily delivery routes, transit time, and fuel consumption while maximizing load capacity.
• Fleet Dispatch & Driver Coordination: Assign daily loads, manage driver rotas, issue dispatch paperwork, and maintain regular communication with drivers in route.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce speed limits, axle weight compliance, cargo security protocols, driving hour regulations, and mandatory driver rest periods.
• Vehicle Maintenance & Operational Upkeep: Coordinate routine servicing, inspection schedules, and immediate repairs with the maintenance workshop to minimize fleet downtime.
• Performance Reporting & Cost Control: Track key performance metrics including delivery turnaround times, fuel usage per distance, transit delays, and driver performance logs.

Education: First Degree (B.Sc. / B.A.) in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology & Management, Transport Management, Supply Chain & Logistics Management, or a directly related engineering/technical discipline.

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in fleet supervision, truck routing, dispatching, or transport operations within manufacturing, freight forwarding, or heavy haulage sectors.
